If I had an angel send me swap stuff instead of my original partner, am I obligated to send him/her a little something in exchange?  Like a thank you gift of sorts, I suppose?

This thread is about Replacement Partners.  In the instance of Replacement Partners, you would send an entire swap package to the partner (since they replace your original partner).

In the instance of Angels, no thank you package is required of you, but you could always ask them for their address and send them a little something, if you wish. Smiley

I need a replacement partner, but there are less than two weeks before send-outs. Presumably the replacement partner wouldn't be held to the same time standard for sending "on-time" as the rest of the swap participants? Meaning, they wouldn't get "sent late" feedback for sending after the deadline? Sometimes people drop out very close to send-outs, and that's not a lot of time for a replacement partner (or the flaked-on)!

usually you'd work that out with the replacement partner. they may need more time (depending on when in the swap it is, obviously!), so you'd decide on a new send date for them and the original swapper (since they'll need time to tailor the package to their new partner). it will drag the swap out a bit longer, but not as long as it would if you'd had to get an angel!

Thanks, crafty_dame! That's what I suspected, but I thought that I'd check just in case!

Okay, new problem: In the past, when I've had angels who are also swap participants, I usually make a note of it in feedback and that's that. However, now I've got a replacement partner who is IN the swap. I gave her feedback already, as she's already sent and her first partner received. Can I somehow add a second line of feedback, or do I just note it in her original feedback? Technically she is participating twice...!

Thanks!

i'd change her feedback back to in progress, and in the comment section say that she was also a replacement partner.

I thought about that, but:

1) it's her first swap, so I wanted to make sure it was clear that she was "legal" (that she completed her first swap before starting a second) both for this swap and if she wanted to join others.

2) what if for some strange reason the person flaked on the second partner, but successfully completed the first one?
