This board can also be used to post requests for replacement partners in situations where a swapper flakes but the partner has yet to send their package. In these cases, the replacement partner is not considered an angel, and do not receive FOC status, they receive a package instead! Please post a thread using the same formula as for angels.

Because they receive a package in return, replacement partners are treated the same as everyone else in the swap. They must fit the Craftster swapping requirement of 15 posts and membership of at 1 month. They are also required to abide by the swap limit of 5, unless they have yet to complete their first swap, in which case their limit is 1. If someone volunteers to be a replacement partner when they are already at their swap limit, please find someone else to be the replacement partner. If a newbie volunteers to be a replacement partner, this WILL count as their first swap, unlike angeling.

When completing feedback for the new partner, please note "replacement partner" instead of "angel". Please remember to give them in progress feedback as soon as they sign up to be the replacement partner. If necessary, you may wish to extend the send date for the two partners.

Thank you!

Don't mean to sound like a total stone, but just so it penetrates my hard head.  Wink

So this would be at the discretion of the organizer to decide if they want to request an angel or a replacement? And the difference would be the person who steps in would either get FOC status or a package as in the regular swap?

I was recently a replacement partner, so I may be able to answer that for you Smiley

If the deadline for the swap has come and gone and packages have been sent, but someone flaked out on their partner, then an Angel is needed. Since the Angel gets nothing from the swap, they receive FOC status.
If the deadline for the swap hasn't passed, packages are not sent yet, someone just bows out and lets the organizer know in time, then a Replacement is needed. Since the Replacement will receive a package, they would not receive FOC status.

Make sense?

this is a wonderful idea if someone does know in time and hasnt sent out.
I was wondering something though, why does being an angel not count towards a first swap? Is it cause you do receive friend of craftster status?
Cause the only difference otherwise is the person, who is the angel, is only sending and not receiving?
just wondering...may already be noted somewhere and I havent gotten the hang of all the boards enough to find it...plus I have been chasing a kid most all day and my brain is tired  Wink lol

I think it's because (the other Mods will correct me if I'm wrong) they haven't actually experienced an entire swap process -- for example, signing up, following the crafting time period, bonding with the Organizer and/or fellow swappers, etc.

I understand all of this but do have question.  Will there be a place on the board for replacement partners under organized swaps; like the angels?  Did that make sense?

You can use this same board for Replacement Partners as well as Angels.
