Dear Craftsters,
I've been told on several occasions that I offer good advice, and many people solicit my advice on a variety of topics. I really enjoy helping people in this way my life has provided many challenges and opportunities to grow, often the types of things most people do not deal with until much later in their lives.

I also know that nothing makes people more unhappy than unsolicited advice. However, I often feel compelled to give advice anyway. I usually hold back my urges, in the interest of maintaining the respect of my peers.

The advice I seek is this: Ive been considering creating a blog type interface in which individuals can email me with their concerns, which I will address anonymously and daily in the blog entries. I do not plan to make any money off of this; it is mostly for the joy of web design and offering advice in a manner which will not offend. It also provides me with the opportunity to reflect on my experiences.

I would like to offer crafting advice, but also more general advice on manners and morals. The website would also feature a weekly craft, as a method of therapy. Of course, I would still be as active as I am now in the Craftster community.

Would you be interested in participating in this kind of advice blog as Craftsters? Do you have any ideas as far as administration tasks and layouts?

Signed,
Anxious Advice Columnist

Dude. That's sounds cool! I personally have no means of helping you or giving you advice on this, but I think that it's a cool idea. Especially the part about the weekly craft.

Personally I'm not much of a blog reader, I check out the occasional pattern but that's about it. Never the less, lots of people are, and blogging answers with good grammar, spelling & research behind the information is imensely valuble. Therefore I say 'Go for it!'.

I don't think I'd be interesting in a going to a craft blog to ask questions because I usually just ask them right here.  I like the idea of getting lots of views and opinions rather than just one person's.

I do like looking at general craft blogs and a craft of the week idea sounds fun! Smiley

The idea was meant more as a general advice blog, not just specific to crafts. By Crafty I more meant tactful, clever. Its not so much of a technical blog that answers how-to questions, but a practical blog that answers concerns. Thanks for you input, Ill make sure to give the blog a unique sensibility (which doesn't copy from the help boards here, which are wonderful  Smiley) and to keep things clear. For the craft of the week I was considering placing a link to a Craftster project I found therapeutic.
