Eeee!  How freakin' cute is that?  I think the sparkly eyes are adorable, but the scarf is totally the best.  (Wasn't there some purple Hanna-Barbera cartoon octopus who wore a scarf, or am I just losing it??)  Awesome job!

(Great B&S quote in your sig, btw)

oh thats adorable!!! I should totally make one of those. How long would it take by hand (my mother threw out my portable sewing machine, she thought it was an old suitcas. Grrrrrrrr) Awesome job! And I love the scarf/hair!

in response to the questions about sewing by hand:
i really don't know. i suppose if you make very careful, tiny stitches, it would work. but sometimes the stuffing (i use fiber-fill) might peek out of the seams and stuff, so i just prefer maching sewing. plus, i'm super lazy and sewing by hand takes *forever*. the octopus took my about 4 hours by machine. The most time consuming part is turning out the legs.

i'll post instructions soon! Grin

awww i love it! that is soo awesome! but how would one achieve the embroidered cartoon eyes? well obviously by embroidering it but like is there a way to do it on a sewing machine with out an expensive embroidering sewing machine?

Well, I was thinking of hand embroidering with thick embroidery thread. On the machine: I don't know, I guess you could stich down pieces of felt or something. I don't have an embroidering machine myself. And I'm not great at embroidering on the machine. But by hand would be a cinch, don't you think?
