I powered through because I wanted to wear it NOW. Smiley But, yeah, it's a bit excruciating that way.

The mini-Clap was more fun because it progressed so much faster.

No powering through here. I started about 3 weeks ago (March 9 to be exact!) and I am only on repeat 6 of section 3.  I can only do about 1 repeat a day, if that, because my wrists kill me, especially if I type a lot at work. This much stockinette is SO not fun, but it's going to be worth it! It's looking pretty already... maybe I should post a pic when I get home. I was thinking of making a full size clappy for my mom for Mother's Day, but at this rate, I think it will be a mini-clap.

The part that I enjoy most is to drop the stitches!  This is the only time when I can drop stitch and wouldn't freak out.   Grin

I stopped at my 10th straight repeat and now I'm decreasing. Clapotis is one of those things that you're itching to do, once you're into it you wonder "when is this going to end?" then when you finish you swear you're never making another one. This is my second one. I think I'm going to have to order another skein of L&L. 3 isn't going to do it.

Add me to the 'power through' crowd. I did mine as my olympic project - I had to choose between something difficult or something BIG - and decided to go for BIG and force myself to knit like crazy on it for 16 days. Did I mention I made a HUGE one? 8 skeins of silk garden?

But after doing that in 16 days I feel empowered enough to do anything!

I've lost steam on mine and I'm only doing a mini/scarf size one.  I'm almost to the end of my 2nd ball and I have one more to go, so a little over half done, but my wrists have been bothering me when I knit, so I haven't worked on it in forever.  I really want to finish it so I can wear it before it gets too warm here, but I'm having trouble motivating myself.

I wish I had found out about the non-stitch marker way before starting.  I don't think you can switch once you've been doing it the other way, can you??

By `non stitch marker way' you mean purling the stitches between the two twisted ones, right? Yes you can switch. Those are the ones that will be dropped, so it doesn't matter if they were originally knitted or purled.
