I finished this over christmas. I've been wearing it as a ginormous scarf - I'm 4'11" and when it hangs around my neck, both ends hang past my knees. It's comical but lush!

that's a great color!

Okay: Two skeins of Hand Maiden, SeaSilk yarn in the Paris colorway, and 1 year after beginning the thing --

Coiled view; the flash makes the colors look a bit more aggressive than they really are, but I wanted you to get an idea of the wonderful sheen of this stuff!

Spread out as a wrap:

Close Up, no flash:

I've already worn it as a scarf to a school event in the coldest MPR room in the whole district -- insert a sigh of deep contentment here!   Smiley

I love it!
Finished it some time ago.
Works fine both as a scarf by day, as well as an evening wrap by night.
I used a shiny yarn called MEGA IDENA. More on my blog http://alexandrasknits.blogspot.com/2005/11/clapotis.html

started a clapotis today with bernat's cashmere blends in brown with what i think is us 8 needles.  am making it more of a scarf as opposed to a shawl, ie, not as many increases.

back to working the straight rows!

OOOOh I love the colors rebeldaisy.  In fact I don't think I've seen a clapotis that I didn't like.  I'm still working on mine..Bernat crochet cotton in neopolitan shade.

Hmmm.  I am working on my second Clap and as with the first mine seems so much shorter.  Does it grow in the decrease section with all the dropped stitches?

Thanks.

When you drop the stitches it grows most widthwise. Grows a little bit in length.

I added another straight row and will be just a little longer than 55" pre blocking.  I guess I have wide shoulders so that doesn't help.
