I copied one of my sister's bags and used super cheap fabric to test the pattern.
It has a small pocket for money.
Not a very fancy bag but I'm happy with the result. I'll use prettier fabric next time.

It looks pretty well constructed!  Great job!  I'm also getting into doing bags at the moment- anything that can be utilized!

I think you did a fabulous job. Love the shape of the bag. The fabric almost looks like linen & you have a serger too!

Super job!  I love my cloth shopping bags (of course I found the pattern here on Craftster!  Singlet Grocery Bag tute)...anyway, on rare occasions I forget to take them to the store.
I actually get really mad because then I'm forced to use the plastic ones and they tear before I even get the darn things in the house!   Angry

You did a great job!  You'll love it so much better than plastic!

Yes, that's what I was thinking. I have some fabric paint left from an old project, maybe I'll try it.

Thanks for your comments everyone!  Smiley

I love your double choice of handles. I think I'm going to make my shopping bags like that from now on. Great idea!

I patterned it after another bag. I can draw a quick tutorial if you like.
