Here's my favorite handmade scarf. It's a simple K1P1 rib out of leftover yarn on size 9 needles. I found this super cute whale in a bag of random patches at a thrift store and simply sewed it onto the finished scarf.

This is my first successful ribbing project. For a long time, my scarves were ending up as long tubes because the sides were rolling. At the time, I only knew the stockinette stitch (sp?) so when I discovered the seed stitch and once I embraced the idea of ribbing, my scarves have been nice and flat ever since!   Grin

That's adorable! I was just at the craft store over the weekend and I saw all these adorable patches, but I didn't get any because I'd have nowhere to put them. Hehe, now I do! Smiley

yay! patches are so fun. especially because if you sew very careful stitches, then you can't see it from the other side and your scarf (or whatever you sew the patches on) becomes reversable!
