I <3 postcard swaps.  They're soooo cheap to do, and it's fun getting little peices of art in the mail.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RANDOM ACTS OF STRANGENESS POSTCARD SWAP
WHAT WILL THE MAIL CARRIER THINK?Huh

Craftster member who is organizing this swap:  darkhairedgirl
Sign-up date range: Feb 08 - Feb through Feb 22
Date to send item by:  March 5th
Limited to a certain number of people? Nope

Non-U.S. participants allowed?  Yes.

All ages allowed?   Yes

Organizer is aware of current list of "suspended traders"
list and will not allow those members to participate: YES

Organizer has been a member for at least 1 month and will
make sure that every participant has been a member for
at least 1 month: YES

THEME:  Random Acts of Strangeness - anything strange or unusual that fits on a Postcard.  =)

DISTRIBUTION:    Each person will send one card to everybody else who signs up.  I will send a mailing list after sign-ups are complete.  If quite a few people sign up, we'll give the same distribution as the Valentine's Day postcard swap.

DESCRIPTION:  The only rule is to make your cards as strange as possible.
What is strange? I dunno. Whatever your definition of strange is.
Some ideas to get your creative juices flowing:  Pasting animal heads on human bodies, random images that don't correlate (or do they???), surrealist art, strange or unusual quotes accompanied by an unrelated (or is it related?) photo, weird drawings of mythical creatures, mixed up song lyrics, etc.
The idea here is to create something strange and unusual.  The stranger the better!

This really is going to be a "What WILL the mail carrier think???" type of swap.

i was wondering if I could send postcards that I haven't made? i just inherited a HUGE collection of postcards from the turn of last century from my grandmother and some of them are pretty bizarre/artistic. i would be happy to creat them all myself, but i thought it would be neat to share these.

That would be cool with me, but I'm not sure how everyone else who handmakes their cards would feel about it.
Perhaps you can add a lil' sumptin' sumptin' to the cards (front or back) to add your own artistic touch?

Anyone else wanna chime in on this one?

just so you do not think that I am so weird that I refuse to use stamps worth less than 37 cents, i sent out my postcards during a few days when i was very snowed into my house and could not get anywhere to buy stamps, so the 37 cent stamp on the postcard does have an explanation, or maybe it is part of the rasps theme....

I had 11 postcards and 10 23 cent stamps, so one person ended up with a 37-er. Don't think I'm just crazy!

Of course the international ones had to be mailed at the window. I got my favorite postal service employee, Steve. What will the mail carrier think? I don't know, but Steve seemed delighted...
