Here are the beautiful squares that Kookaloo_Starr sent me! The colors are fantastic! I recognize a few of the patterns..are you by chance using the "99 Granny Squares to Crochet" book, Kookaloo_Starr? I recently found my copy and the patterns are great! You'll see some that I'm sending to Tygir.

The package said "Royal Mail" on it, which I'm sure is standard in the UK but I got a kick out of it Smiley She sent a 5th square (the stripey one) which she said didn't come out quite right, but I think it's fine and I really like the look of it. And now for pictures!

Hey, they look familiar  Grin *lol* glad you like 'em Moonchyld. I'm mainly using Jan Eatons 200 Crochet Blocks, I bought it especially for this swap  Grin

You're not the first swap partner to get a kick out of the Royal Mail *lol* it's a shame I couldn't use stamps with a picture of the Queen on huh?  Wink

For me the "Royal Mail" is funny because it makes it sound like it came from the royal family Smiley I find it really fascinating how even though there are many countries who speak english, they sometimes use different words for the same thing. I spent 6 months in Australia and met a lot of different people from different countries while I was traveling. On one of the trips I spent a few hours talking to an English girl about these different words, like torch vs. flashlight, plasters vs. bandaids. One of the things she really got a kick out of was "pinkie". "Pinkie?! Why is it called a pinkie?! We call it your little finger!"

Thanks so much!

I like that design! I am trying to remember how to do basic granny squares myself. I'm a cardmaker/rubber stamper but my sister just found out she is excepting (first time) and I want to make a little something. Any advice for someone with very little to no crocheting experience? Smiley

If you want to be a little adventurous I'd say buy a book, there are a lot that have baby blanket patterns and most of them describe the stitches involved in the front cover (if they don't you can look it up online, a lot of websites have step-by-step instructions or videos). Good luck!!

Received this afternoon from Tygir! They're absolutely perfect and I just love them!!

I couldn't say I have a favorite as they are all just lovely, and fit my color scheme just right. I also love the different patterns used.

THANK YOU, Tygir!!
