I've been trying to work on the starghan and I can't get past the third row. I went to the flickr tutorial to even get that far because the pattern was so confusing (Beth's Little Star Afghan). I then tried the one here (http://yarn-diva.blogspot.com/2006/03/free-star-shaped-afghan-pattern.html) from row four on, that didn't work, so I undid everything and started over with row two. Still didn't work. At first I wanted to scream obscenities, but now all I want to do is cry.  Cry

It's so upsetting because the patterns just aren't making sense to me. I'm still fairly new to crocheting but I manage to understand most patterns. It might take me a few times of reading it over and over again, but usually I can figure it out, or at least free style it to get where I need to be. I do notice that if it's written in a published book, I get it, but most (not all) of the online patterns just don't seem to be written that well.

I know it's silly to let this upset me so much, but I just don't know what to do. I desperately want to make a star afghan and I can't figure it out. Is there any book out there that has a star blanket? Or is there a good star blanket pattern online somewhere that I haven't found? Please help me!!  Shocked

BTW, this is really my first post, I've replied some but that's it. So 'hi!'  Smiley I've been too lazy to post some of my projects, I hope to get to them in the next week or so.

Thanks for any help.

This will be my first post here on this forum.  I've been crocheting for some time now and I can assure you that we've all felt this way at some point.  Practice makes perfect.  The star afghan you are talking about is a bit tricky for the first few rows.... but here is a link to a visual tutorial that should help you: http://www.flickr.com/photos/8645459@N07/sets/72157600301704130

This link was posted by the creator of the little star afghan herself, although it was not made by her.  I hope this helps... keep up the good work. It gets easier.
