Here's the story:

Last Saturday DH and I were strolling past the greeting cards at the grocery store. "What! Father's Day is June 15th? I thought it was next weekend. Oh well, I guess you'll have to have your gift a week late." The sad thing is that I already knew what I was going to do for him, I just didn't know I needed to do it so soon!

I know it's kind of strange to make DD a dress for DH for Father's Day, but it's something he requested (more along the lines of, "Oh, that's cool. You should make the next one with an Xbox controller on it.") and I knew he'd like it a lot more than something for him to wear.

Now without further ado...

The back:

The front:

I kept the original buttons and neckline. You can see the original here...

Close-up of the controller:

I used a combo of double-decker reverse applique and fabric marker.

And the best action shot I could get...

I did the whole thing today and it was a big hit when DH came home and saw it!

Comments appreciated!

It looks great!  Did you embroider it, or paint the controller on the back?

All DH got for Father's Day this year was another Wii controller.  Grin
