I usually send through the post office. Has any one found UPS to be cheaper?  I never thought of it.  (I'm not even sure where my nearest UPS store is, although I could check it out.)

I have a friend that works at UPS and she says "Never send by UPS!" I've just always sent by USPS

I've always heard that in some cases UPS is cheaper IF you're talking about lots of pounds. For example a 10 pound box MAY be cheaper by UPS. when you get into huge weights, like if you were shipping 100 pounds UPS is usually cheaper from what I've seen.

One does not simply walk into Mordor. Its black gates are guarded by more than just orcs. There is evil there that does not sleep. The great eye is ever watchful. It is a barren wasteland, riddled with fire, ash, and dust. The very air you breathe is a poisonous fume.......

I had always just assumed that UPS is more money.  Not only that, I just received a package from another swap through UPS.  Unfortunately, it wasn't marked fragile.  There was a picture in a frame in it.  I could understand the glass getting broken (easily replaced), but it was a metal frame and was badly dented.  It must have been really mishandled to have dented like that.  I have a post office just a few blocks away from me and another about a mile away, so that's why I always send USPS.  I find it easier.
By the way, I'm all packed up and ready to go.  I will drop it off at the post office tomorrow.  Watch for a package on your doorsteps soon, %&^%$##. (I couldn't use her real name so I used symbols to represent the letters.)

I've always sent my swap packages out UPS.  Since the company I work for ships A LOT, we get a really good deal through them.  I just ship on our number and pay them back.  I personally do not trust USPS with my packages because of Craftster swaps.  It might just be the USPS in my area but they don't handle the packages very well, never notify of delivery, don't update their tracking numbers.  I received a swap package almost a month ago and if I were to track it today it still says it is in Illinois (I'm in SC).

Today I received my from my partner ... pinklrt. Im so pleased with what I received!!! Prepare to be jealous :p

Here is everything together

There are two fabric grocery bags and a small bag to carry them in. This is such an awesome idea!!! Mine are always scattered all over the place and the ones I made myself will fit in it with my new ones Cheesy Oh, and it has a snap on the wrist strap so I can fasten it to the handle on the grocery cart... genius!!!

Here it is all packed up

She also sent a set of magnets. I love magnets!!! My sewing room walls are metal so I use magnets for decoration, though these are cute and functional because the tiny little magnets on the back are so strong

My middle son had to check them out immediately

I told them he could play with them for a little bit, as long as he didnt lose any. Well, after about 20 minutes two were missing, but weve found them and theyre safely put up now.

Clever idea making a carry-all for your grocery bags.  It can serve double-duty by acting as another bag when you shop.

Yay! I'm glad you liked your swap stuff! I can't believe how fast your package arrived - I mailed it on Saturday morning and last I checked, it was in downtown Minneapolis.
