I so love that skirt! Did you make or where did you get the pattern for it? I'm really into the ideas of making skirts lately xD The pockets make it extra awesome

I really like the waistband on the skirt. May I ask where you got the amazing patchwork-y fabric?

ok so when you said, "i'm new to here and i know these aren't as great as.." blah blah blah, i had an open mind and was like, "i bet they're just fine..."

and now after looking at them,

you should be proud of these because they are both gorgeous!
they look like they are put together so well and both look clean and neat!

and i have to agree with the majority on this and say that the dress is my absolute favorite and i might be madly in love with it too.

congratulations, these are amazing!

i can't follow patterns for crap no matter how hard i try.
GREAT JOB!

glad to hear you're keeping it up!

Sewing.. a lot better break-up routine than countless gallons of the most chocolate packed ice cream available.

The dress is amazing, and even better since orange is my favorite color!

Wow...thanks, everyone!  You flatter me  0_0.

The patterns are:

Dress:  Simplicity 3507.  It's an "Inspired by Project Runway"  pattern.  You choose the style of sleeves, neckline, and pockets you want, and pin the pattern together.  It makes it confusing to buy the right amount of fabric, so I just bought a ton -_-  I bet it would be easier for more expierenced sewers though.

Skirt: McCalls M590.  Loveee this pattern.  I heard a lot of people have trouble with McCalls?  It didnt give me too much grief at all.  I ended up not putting the pleats in, and altering the belt a bit, thats my first bout with altering patterns, and it turned out well, except that the belts a bit bulky.  I'm going to make a few more from this pattern for friends though  Smiley  The fabric?  It didnt have a selvage, really, so I'm not sure what it was exactly called.  I got it on sale at Hancock Fabricks.  It's kept back with the Madras (plaid patchwork) fabrics though.

THANK YOU ALL, again!   It means a lot to me.
