I frequent the dollhouse making sections of Hobby Lobby for things like this all the time. The kitties are soooooo cute! They look like they just heard the can opener. Smiley

The red scorpions make me want lobster earrings, maybe crabs too.

But anyway, awesome earrings.

Sorry, but I cant tell you where I get my materials from, sorry, artist secret;)

Just a friendly reminder to quote one of our moderators (krazigal72)
"the likelihood of members discussing the techniques of how the piece is made, "copying" and selling the pieces themselves is going to increase.  Wink  Just something to consider.  http://www.craftster.org/craftsterguide.html#anchor9b

I didn't know if you read this before...just wanted to help keep you informed Wink...after all, you are posting your creations where DIYers are going to see them ...and possibly make them for themselves. I would guess that these are dollhouse items, playmobil toys, or something similar.

I don't think anyone is here to steal your idea and make it their own...but it's a risk you run when you put anything on the internet...whether it's here on craftster, or flickr, or wherever.  Tongue

Also, the idea of painting the cats to look like people's real pets is awesome...more personal...but the cats you've already made are adorable as they are. I had to laugh about the can opener comment... Cheesy

Your dad did an excellent job drilling the holes...they are very clean looking! So let him know good job!  Wink

Tanx ISewCute, I will keep this in mind.
Off course you can't prevent people from copying things. But to give them the brand/shopname is a bit too much I think  Wink, and kills creativity.
I hope people get inspired from this jewellery, and go make their own original pieces Smiley I'll be sure to pass my dad the compliment Smiley

The can opener slogan rocks! It's exactly their look!

i actually wanted some nice cats for my 12" dolls' dollhouse (actually, bookshelf).  and these that you used for the earrings are so much nicer than the usual cats i have seen in the toy section.  but i also have not visited the dollhouse section of a hobby store lately; i should try it...

also, i think you could maybe get major bucks (or euros, even better!) if you did your idea of painting cats to match the owner's cats, or at least major types of cats so people could choose theirs...  that would be so cool.  i always get excited to see something that looks like my cat (solid grey).

good luck and i totally don't want to be a competition.  (if only because i suck at selling things)
if i could find your etsy, i might even buy some of your cat jewellery... but i couldn't find the link.

Thanks for al this lovely compliments. And the scorpions can be easily mixed up for lobsters with those big scissor-paws. Smiley

Sorry, but I cant tell you where I get my materials from, sorry, artist secret;)

My dear daddy drills the holes for me (If I were about to do that, I would accidentally draw holes in my nails I think;)), so I dont buy them that way.

I was just thinking of an option to get a miniature copykitty on a keychain. I could paint the kitties to look like real life cats. Whith modellers plastic paint, so it would last. Doesnt that sounds cool!? what d ya think?

Thanks again, you guys make my day!:)

Oh these earrings are so cute! And I think that is a fantastic idea. If you ever want to sell them you could do custom orders and paint the cats to look like the owner's cats. That I think would go well with cat lover's and be really personal Smiley

Okay so once again I am completely redoing my pictures. Got tired of photobucket, the only reason I used it was for here so I decided I will just use Craftster's photo uploader. So while I am switching over my photo links will be broken. Message me if there is a post you would like the pics for.
