I don't know how I got on their mailing list but this looks interesting (web version of their newsletter http://campaign.constantcontact.com/render?v=001roOlkZWwta3hh4vrdW-bTRiA5XWslkmKcFL0G_-vCuVALuKpEYPwM9Lu-0xVUMzAMnF4dRzmWNUj1lWNwGl0RlZUWdSzt3r72SQ9Lxhn2ZiwcQ55x92EAw%3D%3D
They are at 5400 N. Lamar, in Austin, and I'm in New Braunfels, but would love to see if this is a legit/worthwhile group...I can't go until after Jan 31st

Want to Get Crafty?
Frugal Media's is looking to start an Altered-Book/ Book-Crafting group.

As a seller of used books we get a lot of old books that we cant sell and that local charities don't want so we usually recycle them but we thought it might be cool to recycle them in new fun ways like making magnets, buttons, Journals, Wallets, Purses what ever you can think of!

First Couple of Alt Book Meetings will be:

Wednesday January 28th 3pm
Sunday January 31st 3pm
&
Wednesday February 11th 3pm
Sunday February 14th 3pm

Bring your own supplies!
Here is a suggested list of what to bring:
-Scissors
-Elmer's/White glue or Gorilla glue
-Sewing supplies
-Hot Glue gun/ hot glue
-X-acto Knife or similar cutting blade
-Magic Marker, paints, pens, colored pencils, or stuff to scribble on/decorate paper with.
-Blank or ruled paper if you want to make a journal
-Decoupage glue if you'll need it

And don't forget to bring anything you want to collage/ decoupage with images from old books, like, a Pre-made blank journal, a picture frame, magnets, or an old jewelry box!

We'll supply the books!

If you've never seen an Altered Book here's a link to a Google image search of "Altered Books"
What is an "Altered Book"?

Or check out one of MY favorite ideas, one I am definitely going to attempt!
