Am I the only girl in Southern Oregon who is crafty?  Is there anyone else out there?  I really want to start organizing craft parties and was wondering if anyone who posts here is from Southern Oregon. Currently I live in Talent and go to college in Ashland.  I'd really like to meet some crafty people around here.

Okay, this is a long shot, but have you heard of the SCA?  They're reenactors who are into the medival and renaissance periods, among other things.  They are also uber-crafty, with interests ranging from dyeing, weaving, sewing, armor and weapon making, leatherworking, textiles, and spinning.  They have meetings on Wednesdays (I think) at around 7:30pm in the SU arena.  Maybe not quite what you're looking for, but it's sure to be interesting!
I suggest you talk to Maryanne (brunette, thin, about 21yrs) about meeting crafty people.  Her interests are pretty varied and spectacular.
Hope that helps.  Smiley

Hey Ladies! and Men if there are any out there, I'm from Medford and some of my friends and I have a Stitch N Bitch group in Ashland at the South Starbucks (across from Peoples Choice Market) 'cause it's the only Coffee Shop open past 6 or 8, unfortunately.
We are mostly knitters and crotcheters but we welcome all, I think doing a monthly party would be fun to do, eventually. If you're interested in popping by let me know! it's as much socialization as it is crafting.

OMG this makes me so happy! I live in Medford but go to school in Ashland and I craft a ton.. I have never really met a crafty person like myself (I used to work at JoAnn's, I had pink streaks in my hair Tongue ) and would love to meet new crafty pals. My name is Kira btw, and I would love to join a Stitch'n'Bitch but I can only currently use a Knifty Knitter (Would love to learn how to do "real" knitting and also learn how to crochet).

Kewl Beans! See, I'm soo cool that I can say Kewl Beans and not sound like a total dork, or at least that's what I tell myself...
We meet on Mondays @ 7pm-9pm @ the South Starbucks.

Is The Knifty Knitter that circular plastic thingy, if it is then you shouldn't have too much trouble learning how to knit knit.

I'm not gonna be their tonight but there are going to be a bunch of other folks there and I'll be there next week.

D'oh! Is it every week or just for this week or just for the term that you have dance?

Ya I haven't knitted with those plastic thingies, though someone did give them to me, for some reason. I've been told that the process of making a stitch with those things is a lot more complicated than a regular knit stitch.

Anyone help me?
My Mom once went to a shop in the Eagle Point area in Oregon, she said the craft shop was in a barn. Anyone know about this place? She would like to find it again.
She lives in Winston, OR right now.

I live in Gold Hill. I can paint, draw, (sorta) sculpt. I know a tiny bit of jewelry making (beading to be more specific). I can figure out most crafts. I can't really knit or crochet though I'd like to learn how to. Smiley
