Tattoo flash baby quilt

[Hey Noni Noni]

I'm making a baby quilt for my future neice but I'm using old bits of tattoo art for the designs, but doing it in pink and brown to match the baby's room.



this is the middle piece it's my favorite because it almost matches a tattoo on the mommy to be's back




I need a better camera but this little anchor says father


and what tattoo design collection would be complete with out the heart that says mother

Now I just have to decide on some realy cool fabric to make the rest of the quilt..I embroidered all of these and colored them in using the crayon and ironing method (which is my new favorite thing!)

I'm pretty happy with the way they turned out.

The crayon Ironing thing I actualy got from Anya Kase you iron on or draw the pattern then color it in with crayola crayons, the brand of crayons does matter apparently then you flip the design over onto a piece of paper and iron it on a high setting to melt out the wax and all you are left with is the color if you want the color darker color and iron again, it's alot of fun and has sooo many possabilities!

Noni!  I love it!  Awesome Job!  I'm so proud of my little cousin. ( that's right we're related )  Talent runs in the family...not to brag or anything...we're crafty old things!

 I actually got the crayon tinting idea from Kittykill who has a whole thread on the subject.

Dig the brown and pink theme on these.  It's a nice change of pace for tattoo art, and looks great too... How big are your squares for embroidery in your quilt?  Is this infant size or larger?
