I started making this cardigan AGES ago, not really knowing where I was going with it. I used the pattern for Precious by Kim Hargreaves in her Dark House book, but didn't bother with the beads, as I didn't think they looked young enough for my style.

I was going to have a huge ribbon to tie it actually, but I decided that it wouldn't work with the proportions of the cardigan.

Due to the lack of beads, the hem curled, so I decided to weight it down with these really pretty aqua buttons that look perfect with the caramel yarn!

Very pleased with the finished garment. What do you think?

If I hadn't seen the picture, I might have been a little skeptical about the idea of putting buttons all around the hem, but I'd be dead wrong--that looks so cute! Congrats on a beautiful, unique knit!

I kind of want to try that now...  Smiley

Aw thankyou everyone! I must admit, I started to get a bit skeptical about the buttons when I started putting them on, but I love the final outcome. I can tell I'll wear this a lot!

This is lovely!  The colour of the buttons looks great against the cardi. And it looks super soft too Smiley
