You know when you just wear out your bike tires so much that the inner tubes can't be salvaged, but you hold onto them anyways because you think "Well maybe someday I will be able to repair all those holes"? Well i accepted that all inner tubes cannot be repaired, and have been finding uses for them. A friend of mine started making bracelets out of them, so i cannot claim this as an original idea of mine. But i have been making craptons of bracelets and rings and necklaces from the rubber inner tubes, using embroidery floss and snaps. These are a few of my bracelets. I do have many more, but i can't post them all because it would just be too much. Enjoy!

love these they are great. did you just hand stitch them, if so was it difficult to do so?

i did handstitch it. it was actually very easy, the rubber was easy to pierce. it was sort of time consuming, all the little decorative stitches, but i watched movies while i did it. yay multi-tasking!

These are awesome, I love the colours you've used and the idea to cut holes in them. Great re-cycling idea Smiley

The best part is that this is recycled - and they are so pretty.

swell idea! are they lined on the inside? I like the look of them but i'd worry about getting irritated underneath.

they are not lined. i think lining them would make them too bulky, which with my big wrists would be a problem. they don't irritate me to wear them, but being rubber it can get a little sweaty under the bracelet. the cutouts help though.
