My fiance and I recently moved into a new place and wanted to have a house warming party.  We saw Friday the 13th was this month and decided to make it zombie themed.  Lots of the ideas I used are from this site so thank you to everyone!

This was the front door.  All of the signs I found on the internet, printed off, and then laminated.

This was the entry way.  I had this 6 foot skeleton from Halloween a couple years ago and attached a "toe tag" to him that I got from a local funeral home. For the hand prints, I bought clear mat tack from the dollar store.  I mixed red and blue acrylic paint to get a deep red and made "bloody" hand prints.  I then  cut out the prints when they were dry and stuck them all over the house.  The sign was just finger painted on to white paper.

These are some pictures from the kitchen.  I took out our regular light bulbs and replaced them with black lights.  I also used a smoke machine (one here and one in the living room) that I bought from a craft store a few Halloweens before.  (Make sure if you use a smoke machine, the "fog juice" is suitable for inside use.)  You can't see it in any of the pictures but I had a sign for the "Zombie Food Pyramid" showing the correct serving of brains, liver, kidneys, stomachs, bones, etc. a healthy zombie should eat daily.
I put a vinyl sticker on the fridge making it look like a spirit coming out of it and covered the fridge in Misfits magnets my fiance has.  I also made bloody foot prints using the same process as the hand prints and stuck them to the kitchen floor.

This is the counter where we kept the drinks.  I hung flashing green mini skeleton lights throughout the kitchen and also had several "severed arms" that I made by tearing the arms off some sweaters I bought from salvation army and covering them in dark red paint.  I filled vinyl gloves with water and then dipped and dragged the gloves through the paint.  The shrunken heads were made by peeling apples, covering them in lemon juice and salt, carving faces into them, and letting them sit for a couple days.  I occasionally put them in the oven on a low setting to speed the shrinking process.

This is where the food and punch was.  I used a few severed arms and another shrunken head as well as a number of Halloween decorations I already had.  In addition to chips, I also served gummy worms and fingers.  The fingers were just a shortbread cookie recipe that I formed into fingers and then used almond slivers I coloured red with food colouring for the nails.  For the punch, I mixed Vodka and 7Up.  I then put a glowstick into the bottom of the punch bowl (I got a number of glow sticks from a mechanic shop that uses them to light up the under part of cars).  I made "bloody" ice cubes by adding red food colouring to the water and then freezing it.  I also had an ice hand floating in the water.  I used an orange guava passion fruit frozen drink and put it inside of a vinyl glove (in case anyone is allergic to latex).  The orange guava passion fruit drink had a skin like colour to it.  I threw it into the freezer before hand and added it to the punch.  It looked like a hand was floating in bloody water.

Before adding the "blood ice cubes"

After adding the "blood ice cubes" (you can't really see the hand here)

These were two signs I had in the living room:

The living room also had a smoke machine and hand prints on the walls.  In the back corner of the living room, I created a drink center pictured below.  We also played zombie movies (evil dead, night of the living dead) in the background.
Here is a picture of the buffet.  I put glow sticks behind the glass so it would light up with a blue and green glow but it didn't show up very well in the picture.

There were body outlines throughout the house including a few in the living room:

This was the drink center featuring a Ouija board and cherry and lime flavoured vodka jello shots.  I got this coffin drink cooler a few years ago at Halloween.  I also put two red glow sticks under the ice so it looked like the ice was glowing red.

I had foot prints leading upstairs as well as hand prints and body outlines. Here are two views of the stairs.

Some of our guests were allergic to cats so I put my cat in the upstairs office with this sign on the door.

In the bathroom, I replaced the lights with red and green coloured lights and wrote on the mirror with crayola window writers.

Here is a picture of me and my fiance before the guests arrived.  I was a zombie Catholic school girl and he was a night club owner.

My fiance rising up out of the smoke

We had about 25 people show up and all but three were dressed up. This is what some of our best dressed (dead?) guests looked like.
the zombie exterminator

a tombstone

the sleazy mechanic

a golfer (notice the golf ball in the head)

a nurse

And our zombie city electrical worker and 40's housewife

Thanks for looking!

I really like the bloody hand/feet (foot?) prints. Did you use the fake blood stuff or food coloring?

I actually used red acrylic paint (mixed with a splash of blue to darken it).  I put them on clear mat tack I got from the dollar store.
