does anyone have long term experience with them?

it looks like mine is sprouting a flower, or maybe a seed head...im not sure

His name is jaws, and i love him..if he had little babies, that would be SO cool, i would put them in all the rooms of my house

Aww, you have a maturing Venus fly trap!  Cheesy 

Mine grew like mad out here last summer, went dormant in the winter, but haven't done anything this summer.   Sad 

I grew mine outside though, so it's possible that this summer just wasn't humid enough for them.   Anyway, good luck with Jaws!  Fly traps are so much fun!

ETA:  If you pinch the little flower part off, Jaws will grow leaves faster!  Flowering takes a lot of work and energy for these guys!

poor jaws, i knew ye not that well

he died, it got to hot in the window here (115 outside means like 150 through the window)

its cool that you had an outside one, i have never seen that before (i know they grow outside in the wild, i have just never seen it lol)

Out here in SC, it's almost the ideal weather to keep fly traps.  I think there are places along the coast (also in NC) that the fly traps grow naturally and are protected Grin
