July sixteenth is my seventeenth birthday and I plan to celebrate with a 10 oclock screening of Rocky Horror Picture Show. Midnight would be much too late for my friends.

Invitations: I just finished designing my invitations and now their just waiting to get printed off. Here it is:

On the back will have "A Virgin's Guide to RHPS" for all my friends who know nothing about it.

Pre-movie activities: I'm having guest show up about two hours before I plan on starting the movies. Any ideas for activities? So far all I have is:
  • "Make your own man" - Decorating gingerbread men

The main event: So, for during the movie I plan on gathering props for everyone so we can have some "Audience Participation." So far my lists of props includes:
  • Rice.
  • Newspaper.
  • Water guns.
  • Flashligt.
  • Rubber gloves.
  • Noise makers.
  • Confetti
  • Toilet paper.
  • Toast.
  • Party Hats
  • Bells.
  • Playing Cards.
I plan on projected the movie up onto a king sized sheet that I'll put up on the side of my shop.

Decorations: I really have no clue here. I don't have to money to get cut outs of the characters (although I wish I could) and the party'll be outside is weather permits.

Any help would be appreciated.

Love, Anna

I did a rocky theme for my 14th birthday, and we got our local bakery to decorate a cake that says 'Happy Birthday Rocky' (They celebrate his birthday in the movie for those who don't know/remember) on it and a big pair of red lips. I don't have any pictures of it sadly, but it was a red velvet cake, white icing with black trim icing(I don't know what its called exactly), and the happy birthday rocky was in gold to match his short shorts lol

We also had random tin cups we got a the local thrift/army surplus stores (a little prop from the movie).

Also, we made cards with a character written on it, and when you can to the party you had to act like that character the whole night lol I was Rocky so I couldn't talk at all XD!!

As for decorations we just used black and red streamers and we put cobwebs and "dust" (powder) on all our clocks (because in the movie the grandfather clock was old and dusty) and a black cover for our couch (messy watching that movie lol) and red pillows lol just basic stuff lol

Awesome party theme!!!
Hmm decoration ideas (let's watch TIME WARP!!!)
Red streamers
There are string lights hanging up.  They bulbs are globe shaped, I saw something like those in Target's Patio and Garden section for like $10.
Transylvanian Convention sign Dr. F throws his cape off in front of
Red wax lips are party favors, candy necklaces too for Dr. F's pearls?  If you can find a bunch of cheap ones, snazzy sunglasses?
Aliceowns00 has great ideas.

Hope you can get pink dish gloves for yourself!

Maybe you could use some halloween  props...to make " the dinner party Eddie" and or if you can not make the table with "the dinner eddie"

You can always make MEATLOAF.
just before the tablecloth is removed.... we always shouted whats for dinner?

Meatloaf!!! AGAIN!!!!

I totally love the wax lips idea. I guess if any crafters stay the night...you all can make crafts to remember the night.

Pre-party activities might just be snacks/drinks and socializing, or you could to a lovely photo-shoot type-thing of everyone in their costumes! Karaoke? Rocking out to the 'Best of Meatloaf' CD? RHPC trivia?

As for decorations, feather boas from a party store should be fairly cheap, and with gold streamers or tinsel, would look quite sharp. Grab a big box, some red paint, and make a huge pair of lips for people to pose with!

ur missing hotdogs and popcorn.

on the version that i have there is a special feature that u can turn on that tells u when to throw things and what to say.

like right before they say Columbia's name ur suppose to ask something like "where do u get ur drugs" or something like that. look it up if u dont already know those tricks

I know absolutely nothing about RHPS  Smiley but if you're looking for decorations (or cut outs of the characters) just get random caps/stills of the film, or proper photoshoot style pics of the characters.....go over to www.blockposters.co m.....and KABLAMO!  Cheesy you'll have big pics of the characters to stick on your walls/floors/etc.

If you have a bit of time on your hands, you cut stick the them onto cardboard and cut around them to make like cut out characters.

I have a giant cut out snape in my room, if you're wondering why I know all this...  Roll Eyes
I didn't have a party for my 17th but my 18th is next year, so I may be stealing some of your ideas!
