My latest Crazy Craft Idea

Hello everyone!  A week ago I attended a Scrapbook Convention even though I don't do scrapbooking, but was looking for a book binding device.  Well, I have 2 new best friends:  the Bind-It-All and the Purple Cows combo trimmer.  I have been really busy since I returned from the convention making small-to-large journals/notebooks/scrapbooks using recycled vintage album covers, VHS sleeves, candy boxes, game boxes, just about anything I can find.

Your books look amazing.  I am feeling SO jealous - and quite a bit stupid.

Am I the only one who has struggled with this ridiculously simple machine?

I have had nothing but trouble with mine.  I can never get things to come out even.  I end up with a half a hole on one end - or the holes are too far from the ends - or the inside pages don't line up with the cover.

I finally found the video on their website - although I haven't really had time to study it.  I did discover that the covers couldn't be "odd" sizes that they have to be an even inch or 1/2 inch number - I'm hoping that will help my "half-hole" problem.  It would have been nice, for those of us who are diy impaired, if the instructions that came with the machine were more than a few lines.

Any tips from someone who obviously has it all figured out?

There is a Yahoo Bind-It-All group (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Binditall/) and the moderator has posted an awesome users guide that should help you out! You should give it a look-see because I've found it to be a very helpful community (and the moderator is just a fantastic person, too!).


And SuzNTX, ever since I got my BIA, I've been saving up cool boxes just so I can do the same thing! Did you back the covers with anything? And, did you use a chipboard back cover?

These are adorable. I love the VHS and board game ones. Such a great way to recycle materials.

Also...I found at Target yesterday some coasters (pack of 20 $1) Neat colors that would make FABO miniture books!
