Hey Guys, i've made 2 shirts in the past couple of days.  They are so pretty, and so easy to make, they are honestly tube tops with straps, and i used elastics for the rouching.  I picked up the fabrics at walmart for 1.97/yard.

Did you use a pattern, or just make it up? I really like them!

oh my gosh thanks for all the great comments!! Cheesy  I love them all!
Tips, well with the elastic i decided to put it under the bust just to give the shirt a bit more shape.  I left the elastic side of the sleeves raw, you cant really even tell.
No Pattern, it really is just a tube top with sleeves, i should have taken a picture of the back, but it looks like the front but without the elastic (the elastic also helps determine which is front and back for the green one)  The black one has a panel added for the bust, and it was really just measure by putting the fabric over my chest..haha
i would say the "straps" are about 6 inches wide give or take.
The only problem i really did have was making sure the straps were the right length, i had to do it twice, so my final tip is if you think the straps are good, minus about 1 inch-1.5 inches more, because the stretch makes it droop a bit too much over the bust.  I hope all that makes sense! Smiley  Any more questions ask away! Smiley

Tube tops with straps are the way to go. Wink Don't be ashamed of humble beginnings, the tops look fantastic and so flattering!

I like the pattern. Adding straps to tube tops uses nice expanses of fabric.

I am loving these tops!  Thanks for giving the dimensions of the straps -- makes a super cute cap sleeve.

I've got some nice tissue weight jersey I might have to try this with.

Thanks for posting your super idea!  I'm totally going to try it!

Hmmm, do ya think this concept would probably also work to re-fashion a t-shirt?  Would there be enuf fabric for the straps from cutting off the top of the tee??  Totally going to try that too!

Yay, thanks for giving me something to do w/ my Friday night!
