Anyone got a recipe for authentic canadian muffins - I used to get them from the Canadian muffin company here in the UK and have been told they were authentic, I LOVED them but dont know how to make them.  Theyre less sweet and cake-like than muffins here but still come in sweet flavours.

Hello!

I'm from Canada and we have muffins!  I have to admit, I'm confused by your request.  I know muffins in the UK are what we call English Muffins (Which I LOVEEEEE!) here.  Could you look at wikipedia  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muffin  and see which type you are looking for?  I'd love to help, if I can!

Thanks - I looked at Wikipedia and I definitely mean the cakey type American / Canadian muffins. Its just when I bought them from the Canadian Muffin Company they were amazing and from anywhere else they are more sweet and cakey, less dense maybe? They were similar but not quite there - maybe more like what the article calls a cupcake
