Beginner sock knitters unite? - Silver's sock class KAL

Hi,

I am a beginner knitter who'd like to knit her first sock.  I've been looking up the threads and sites and Silver's sock class tutorial seemed the clearest.

Toe-up socks on two circular needles.

Would anyone be interested in a knitalong?  I'm thinking of starting with a simple lace pattern and would love to have some company.

PS: If you're an experienced knitter and just want to knit a pair of socks and keep an angst-ridden newbie company, that's fine too!!

I just wanted to pop in and say I taught myself from Silver's dpns sock tutorial, her instructions are really clear and make it easy, so I would highly recommend her tutorials to anyone who's been afraid to try socks so far...y'all should definitely give it a go!

Silver's Sock class is an amazing site. I've knit her cuff down on DPN's multiple time. It's easy to memorize and the site is well written. I won't be joining as my UFO's slowly building but I thought I should share my tale of success with silver's sock class Good Luck but you won't need it

cynlynn - I just found some super cheap sock weight yarn, so i'm ready to go once I've bought two circular needles.  do you wanna try circs or dpns?  i'm up for either really.  ooooh and i'll post the yarn so you can see and you can post where you're at!

I think i will go with dpn's.  have some fancy sock yarn on the way to my doorstep:) can't wait to get started!

I'd love to join, I'm scared of socks too.  I'd use dpn's but I need to get some sock yarn.

I just picked up a pair of dpns from an op shop for a dollar.  Now all I need is some yarn and I'm ready to go too.

I am not joining in as I have made 6 pairs of socks using Silver's Dpn pattern.
I just wanted to say that if it wasn't for me finding her site I would of never made socks. Every other pattern that I say was written in some kind of sock language that I didn't understand. But Silver's was first grade reading!

I now feel as tho I am ready to move onto other sock patterns!

I hope you all stick with Silver's site and make it thru your first pair of socks!
