Rip out the lining and maybe they'll come in handy. As for the tape I like the DVD shelf idea, if you own DVDs that is.

O and in response to " I'm not sure how VHS's would burn ". Plastic burning smells. At the end of the school year party some people threw in plastic folders :-/

LOL just stack them on their sides and glue them together if you want it permanent ( or if you want a barbie mansion LOL ). for the furniture.. Just like lay one down and cover it with some fabric for them a bed. or lay one down and another on the side for a back ( for the couch ). LOL I should make one and show you. Its dorky.. but it works cuz kids have an imagination!!! You can take the lil reels out and stack two together with the 'cupped' side up for a chair. Wow.. I wonder if me and my sisters are the only ones who done this LOL.

I don't have any new ideas but would like to hear more.

Our Friends of the Library accepts videotape donations and resells them as a fundraiser for the library.

i work at blockbuster so we have fun destroying old vhs all the time! first off take them apart dont try to just rip the tape out. grab a tiny phillips head screwdriver and flip it so the two *holes* ridged circles are facing up. see the screws in the corners? those should open it up. then take the two wheels and tac? them to the wall like 12inches apart and start wrapping the tape back on them. its a cool piece of wall art.

I didn't see anyone suggest this, but I may be wrong.  You could take the tape out and somehow attach it to a tension rod and use it as a swishy door hangy thing.
