we went on a mission last night at midnight to find boxes and build a fort. after half an hour of searching behind grocery stores and shopping centers, we finally found some in the hospital dumpster. (no, i do not promote dumpster diving at the hospital, it's generally not a GREAT idea, but we needed boxes) we then decided that a local park needed some help. it is nice and all, but just not up to our standards of excellence. so, from the hours of 1-3 am we turned the ocean/boat themed kids playground into  a fort with only cardboard boxes and saran wrap. that's right, no tape, everything is tied together with saran wrap. we called it Hobopolis, and it was a city of peace, progress, and freedom. the people were happy and the land prospered. ok, actually, it looked terrible and we gave up halfway through to wrap ourselves in saran wrap and go swing. but still, i am proud of our work.

the whole thing

we even had an escape pod.

see, tied with saran wrap. that was a pain. we cut holes in the cardboard with keys and used the saran as rope.

we also deconstructed and cleaned up out whole mess so that we wouldn't get in trouble, and so kids couldn't hurt themselves on it. then we went and got donuts. Jesse decided to keep his saran shoes on for this:

we had fun. and got a pretty good work out tying and cutting and moving.

overall, it was a good night.
