Okay... I am sure that this probably belongs more over in the photography section but I really wanted to share the blooms I have going on in my yard right now...

Starting off with my favorite - the mutant rubdekia!  Gotta love mutants!
This picture is not morphed in any way... it is shaped just like a big arse fuzzy caterpillar...

and who said taro is not a returning plant in Alabama ponds?  Well the dude that sold it to me last year on Ebay - I neglected to bring in my taro - but well no harm no foul... This is a shot of the corner of my plant heavy pond... I will be weeding out several water lilies as soon as my friend gets her pond installed... Hopefully I will be able to keep my yellow water lily - I really need to figure out a way to tag that one.. .I have a few pinks so I can spare some of those for her but I want my yellow!

and the pond from another angle..

and I love spirea!

I'll add more as more does its thang... and if anything is as interesting as my mutant rudbekia (grown from seed - planted last year)

Wow, it looks beautiful! I wish I had a green thumb, unfortunately I have a very dark black one! I have been known to take a plant or well all of them to my Grandma to save. lol  Sad

Everything is beautiful! The taro reminds me of living in Hawaii. I grow taro in Arizona now, but I don't have a pond so I just do my best to keep it's feet as wet as possible. Do you have fish in your pond?

I have faaaaaaar too many fish in my pond - they had babies last year - the babies are now all about 6" long... and there is another set of babies in there that are about 4" long..... I keep giving them away on freecycle but they are sooo hard to catch (thanks to the massive amount of plants I have in the pond.....and the fact that they learned what my net looks like and when the net is out the fish are hiding...)

Be sure to save your "mutant" seeds! Very cool...

I had not even thought of that - saving the mutant seeds - I will!  Maybe I will get lucky and the seeds from that one flower will have more of a mutant gene in them.... I will definitely save those seeds!
