Maybe I used too many monkeys?

So one of my favorite singer/songwriters is Jonathan Coulton and my favorite song of his is called Skullcrusher Mountain.  It's a sweet song sung by an evil genius to his captive love, trying to convince her to stay with him on his island.  I particularly like the part of the song where he makes her a half-pony, half-mokey monster. After all, she does like monkeys and ponies, although not so much monsters.  Full lyrics for the song here.

So a trip to Goodwill and I had 1 pony and 3 monkeys (good ponies are hard to find.. but there where a lot of monkeys.)  With all of the monkey and pony parts I made two monsters and still had a bunch of left over monkey bits.  This seemed to disturb my husband who made me clean up all the various monkey leftovers as soon as he saw them.

This was the second monster but I think I might like this one better.

And the back.. showing the pony tail.

And the first one I pieced together:

And another shoot showing the back a little better (the pony has a saddle on):

And here are some in progress shots along with a pic of all the animals before this began.

All the parts that went onto the second monster:

And the pony before it got a new head and some extra arms:

I was thinking about making big noticable stich marks where the different animals meet but too many of them were black to begin with and I didn't think they would show... maybe in red?  But that may be too disturbing.  Right now everyone looks at them and says, "oh, how cute!" until they realize what I've done and then they look a bit disturbed.  But somehow they are still cute...

Okay, so first, I rock out with Re: Your Brain almost every morning!  He's awesome.

Second, that's the most adorable, creepy thing ever.  I'd make one for DH, but stuffy autopsies freak him out.  Me, too.

Good job!

Awesome!

Did you ruin an additional pony in the process?

I LOVE Jonathan Coulton and this song in particular.

Thanks for making me smile!

That's probably my second favorite song of his.  Smiley  And yeah.. Husbands get freaked out by the strangest things.. of course I couldn't have done this to my own plushies.. I had go find ones I didn't know and do it quickly before I became too attached.

Awesome!

Cheesy Nope.. I only had to ruin one pony for these  Cheesy

Those are somehow both adorable and deeply disturbing. A touch more distubing than adorable, I think. Grin Love 'em anyway!!! As for stitching, I'd use white. Or purple Wink. Or try something like a teddy bear pieced together out of teddy bear parts. Might be a little bit less creepy.
