i got this plain black messenger bag when i ordered some makeup.
it wasn't very interesting so i embellished it with a lovely cross stitched sugar skull patch.
it is my very first attempt at free hand cross stitch, so let me know what you think.

I love the color and design --  Nice!

One thing though --  this isn't cross stitch --  at least I don't see any cross stitch in it --

Cross stitch is made of crosses or Xs.

What you've done is embroidery using several different types of stitches -- none of which are cross stitch.

But no matter --  it's quite wonderful.

i just used plain black felt, ya know just one of those 20 cents pieces from the craft store.
it was really easy to get the needle through.
