Yes, I did make the purse myself.  The odd shape is due to the fact that you're looking at the bottom pooching out.  It's sort of triangular shaped.  The idea is to make several of these and run the chain through the eyelets.  Handy for keeping work stuff (badge, computer glasses) in a M-F pouch, all purpose stuff in another (sunglasses, hanky, pen, cash), outside (spf, extra hanky) in another, craft, etc. We'll see if that comes to fruition.

Thanks on the eye comment. It seemed like a good place to use varigated thread

I love that idea of making different little purses for different activities like work, crafting, night out, outside play, etc...  I like the beads on the zipper too.  The whole project is fab!  Your swap partner is one lucky duck!
