I'd like to join this craft-a-long! I write exams till 30 January so my hat posting might be a bit late. I have however bought all the supplies I need. I have never made a hat so I am rather looking forward to this!  Smiley

I like the contrast of textures and the unexpected button in that Robin's Egg Blue style hat.

I finished knitting my green beret, but I don't like it and haven't worn it; I may just need some time to get over the initial disappointment and will be okay with it then. Meanwhile I've started a new hat for the husband.

Ah, I haven't started anything for this month. I'm going to the craft store tomorrow and I'm either going to knit a cabled hat (never done cables before, or hats) or make a feathered headband/fascinator (never worked with feathers). I'll craft super speedy and try to get it done before the end of January, but I'm going to count it as long as I start it in January.

I bought a white and beige herringbone fabric for the newsboyhat, made it up without testing the pattern and it was to large for me.  Embarrassed

I have to try again, i have fabric fore one more, but I'm not in the mood now and January is almost over. I'll get back to it later, will be great to have in the spring.

Nice work everyone!

Hi all!
Phew! What a Sunday! I spent the whole day crafting! Must say I had a real blast. A while back on one of the threads I saw a mini-hat made with a shoulder-pad so I decided to give it a bash! It's a church hat (my boyfriend's church wears hats) so I'll wear it on Sunday. I'm quite chuffed with how it come out!

Can't wait to see what we are making for February!!

That is so cute, great idea to use a shoulderpad.

Love the shoulderpad-hat! Brilliant idea.

I'm more or less finished with my hat, though it's a different one than planned. This is kinda inspired by the link to  "Robin's egg blue hat" but it's gone in a completely different direction. Hopefully it'll be done by tomorrow. It's pretty, pink, with stripes of seed stitch and normal (stockinette? Any knitters feel like updating me on vocabulary?)

During the past few weeks I've become hooked on knitting, I've even gotten myself a Ravelry account. This definitely doesn't look good, yet another craft... I don't have the time...

Hat is done. Will edit post with pic once I get it up. Learned lots and I concider it a success despite the lousy visual outcome. I've named it the "Fugly beehive hat". Nuff said. Wink
