The city would be prettier covered in yarn...

hey, thanks alot, guys! I always wanted to add to my environment, always loved graffiti, but I think it's important to do it in a non-permanent way. So sure, you'd have to use a ladder to pluck it down, which could be a pain, but hopefully city ambassadors would get a giggle out of it anyway (and they'd have tons of magnets for their refrigerators!)
When my husband was taking these pictures, a couple was trying to figure out what happened to the sculpture. They thought hacky sacks were glued to it!! Then they said, "I think someone MADE those..." then they realized they never really looked at that sculpture before, so that's kinda cool.

We had so much fun doing this and it's GREAT to hear such positive and encouraging responses!  Unfortunately the city does take our work down, they have in the past (they've even gone as far as using a bucket loader!).  So far it's been raining like mad so city work crews are doing minimal work. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, hoping they over look this one.

Nice post partner!  Let's keep busy so we can add more!

This is a art! And this is what art should always do, inspire people to do more art and create a question mark in the head of the people that walk by that sculpture. Very well done. Congrats!

Haha! Crafty vandalism!  I love it!  I've been lately making Craftster inspired slogan signs and attacking the city with them but now I'm inspired to take my crafty street art to the next level!

Love this!  I hit THIS ROCKS because it is totally cool--vandalism without destructiveness, it actually enhances the sculpture and makes people take a second look at it!

Where else have you "struck", and what town is this?

Hm. Logistically, you could've crocheted the balls around the magnets, and then stuffed the remaining open space in the ball with filling... Would the magnet be strong enough against that?
