Knit hat w/ cables, I used superwash wool, worsted wt., the pattern's from Not Your Mamma's Knitting BUT the pattern in the book I got had an error in it, and I couldn't find the errata- I checked the publisher and tried searching. But I figured it out, and it fits just fine. I wore it all winter  Smiley

That is cute enough to make me want to buy the book.  What was the error and how did you fix it?

Not you mamma's knitting (and the crochet one) is full of good patterns, with lotsa alternate versions of just about every pattern. This hat was an alternate version of "Bean Beanie".  Since I looked online for the errata and didn't find one, I think that the newer editions may have fixed it, but who knows?  The error was this: when you get to Rnd 32, it tells you to rep it 5 more times, and then to repeat rnds 20-32 3 more times.  But rnd 27 has an increase of 6 sts- from 90 to 96.  If you were to rep that increase rnd 3 more times, that would be 114 sts around.  Way too wide.  So I just didn't increase on that round.. . then after repeating rnds 20-32,  the hat seemed long enough, and actually if I remember right - it would've been way too long if I followed the instructions.  I then continued on, dividing the sts for the earflaps.  So rnds 20-32 only needed to be done a second time, but you can kinda judge for yourself by trying it on.    Anyhoooo,
if you get the book, will you let me know what it says on that pattern?  I'm curious.  Thanks  Smiley
