Sweet! And totally manly. I'm inspired to make a messenger bag for my brother now, though he's still at the age that I might replace the fancy patch with trogdor or something Wink

Wow, you did a great job on that bag! My husband would also love it, but I'm pretty certain a bag like that would kill my cheap sewing machine once and for all. I like all the features you added to the bag and hope your husband loves it for a long time.

Love those outer pockets.  I'm trying to make a bag for my husband right now (he calls it a haversack, my friend called it a "man purse").  It has to be big enough to carry a clipboard inside and a spray bottle of herbicide on the outside.  So, I've been struggling with those bellows pockets for a few days now.  I can really appreciate how good your pockets are!

Amazing!! A very good (and hard!) work. But it was worth it, no question.

Thanks for the comments everybody!! Smiley

Yeah... those pockets are crazy! It took me forever to even figure out how to go about making them. I'm sure there's an easier way then how I did it, too. Good luck on your bag, post pics when you are done  Grin

That is one terrific bag. Congratulations.
I gave up telling my husband when I was making him a bag. He'd nearly stand over me at the sewing machine and say "I want an outside...no two outside pockets about half of the...no 3/4's of the way up each side...no the front side...on the flap. Okay, now I want a set of pen pockets...no, maybe a couple of wallet...no, maybe I ought get...well, on the other hand..."
So, now, I guess what he might use the bag for and add appropriate pockets and decorations, and hardware.
I have yet to make one with too many pockets, and have yet to get too much hardware onto one and have yet to make one that he doesn't use for something Cheesy

Wow, that is TOTALLY what my husband was doing to me! I would have one part completed, he'd ask for something, and I'm like, "no problem honey, no problem at all... really!" and inside I was screaming  Roll Eyes  lol It all worked out though!

We had a barbecue the other day with a bunch of his work friends over. A few of them were asking me what *design school* I went to! Because of the bag! I couldn't stop blushing.

Now that the bag has been used for a while, I see one problem- the D-ring holding the straps just spins around, so the straps get all bunchy in the corner of the D. I will be using rectangle hardware from now on!
