Ack..wooden spools can be worth that much?? I had to lose a whole bunch of them when I moved suddenly...wah!

thanks everyone!

now to answer some questions.
- i used lino carving tools and an xacto.
- to glue the rubber to the spool i used e600

the spools i got at the craft store so i doubt they will be worth a lot?

Thank you for letting us know how you did the stamps. Thanks to you, I'm looking at my collection of old spools in a totally new way!

BTW, I browsed the prices of wooden spools and from what I gathered, it's the larger ones that previously held silk that seem to be selling well, but even those are hit and miss. Also spools sold in bulk (like 200-300 at a time) with thread still on them sell pretty well, too. I wouldn't fret over letting them go.

These are really nice. If I understand you carve the motif from some kind of rubber and attach it to the wood base? I would love to make my own stamps.
