This is so neat.  It reminds me of the old bi-plane models made from soda cans.  This would look great in a game room.

Wow!
What a gorgeous idea!
Maybe to help you tell the time you could take the hands off and spray paint them a metallic colour, silver perhaps to go with the aluminum theme? And then the pop tabs or bottle tops, as someone else suggested.
Anyways, I hope you can make it a little more practical, or so! =D
