This is a monoprint I had to do for my art class. We painted on plexiglass with blockprinting ink, then ran it through a press. We had to make two, a first run and a "ghost print" (the second run). My first print came out pretty faded, so my ghost print was borderline invisible. So I painted over it with concentrated watercolor brush pens. It was my first time with both processes. I copied the image from an old national geographic.

I'm really happy with the results. Comments and criticisms welcome.

first run through

ghost print with watercolors

Sorry about the terrible picture quality, it dosn't really do them justice.

They are both incredibly beautiful, although I do find myself drawn to the second, as I love bright colors.

Again, beautiful.  *this rocks*

Wow, those are awesome! I wish I was in art class, but I had conflicting class schedules, so I couldn't take it this year.

I love the first run through! It's more interesting to look at because it's faded. The second is also great, but I just love the first one Wink

Lovely monoprint... I think the faded affect is great.

I think they're both really nice, though I can see what you mean about the faintness on the first one.
