Last time I was in Joanns I saw all the fabric they had that is pre shirred and you buy it by the inch and then simply sew it together and them hem and Poof! Instant strap less dress. Well I don't really do strapless so I decided to do my own little modification. I gathered the top to give it a little sweet heart style. I also added some straps.

What do you think?

You read my mind. I've got a 40% off coupon for Joann's and was going to buy some for a dress for myself. It looks awesome!

That looks great, how freakin easy is that Smiley

When I first saw the pics I thought "I always wanted to do that but it takes so time" then I read it came like that. I need to head out and search for that fabric.

Really adorable dress! I love the straps and the sweetheart neckline! I need to get working on my girls dresses .. but the weather has been to cold here to even think about summer things. Cry  I miss my hometown.

I bought some of that fabric last week. It was on sale already for 40% off. I purchased enough to make two little toddler dresses, but I'm wondering what should I do with the excess that I have to chop off for them. Any suggestions?

Depends on how much you have left--matching headbands or headscarves, capris or shorts, matching purses/totes...

nice twist on the standard shirred dress, the neckline is cool.  i wish my joann's had that print.  most of their pre-shirred fabric isn't my cup of tea (print-wise).  but i did find just enough inches in the remnant section to make myself a dress of the one print i did like.  i guess haunting joann's pays off.  Cheesy  seriously tho, check the remnants and don't believe what the pre-shirred instructions say, unwrap it and test it around yourself before cutting/buying.  the remnant i bought was about 30in, and my bust is probably more like 40, totally fits.

Love the neckline, and if you're anything like me, the straps will keep you from having to constantly fight a tug-of-war battle with gravity.  Great idea!
