I'm addicted to sweater knitting...  I thought I'd share my recent FO that I'm very happy with.

Pattern: modified version of Jared Flood's Cobblestone Sweater from Interweave Knits, Fall 2007.
Needle: US 6
Yarn: 4.25 skeins 100purewool.com worsted merino (LOVE this yarn - it's so soft)
Started: 5/26/08
Finished: 6/6/08
Mods:  I resized the pattern down for a bust/hip measurement of 33".  I also added some waist shaping.  I have my mods written out if anyone is interested. My mods are now in post #4.

This was a well-written pattern.  I knit men's versions twice, and it was easy to modify it down to my size.  This will definitely be a favorite sweater.

Yoke close up (which is also the most accurate picture of the color):

Side view, which shows the garter stitch band and waist shaping:

Thanks for looking!  I'm happy to answer any questions on the mods made!

I have been really wanting to make this in the girly size but I am not super awesome at knowing what to do to make it how I want in knitting. Crochet I can, but it's so different.

You did a beautiful job and the color is great Smiley

Hey Fiber People: I am very interested in personal swaps for painted/dyed roving or top. I can swap supplies or crafted items. Let's talk!

Here are my notes (if you're on Ravelry, I'm Pugmama there and these notes are all written out).  You'll need the original pattern from IK.

Each size up of the Cobblestone pattern is a difference of 18 stitches, so Ive found that for the size I want with the gauge Im getting (17 stitches/inch in stockinette), Ill be going down to 140 for the main body.

For the body: CO 130 and work garter stitch for 1.5 (which was 6 garter ridges for me). Next knit round, increase 10 stitches evenly (every 13 stitches). Next round, P12, PM, K58, PM, P12, PM, K58 to EOR marker. I worked 5 paired decrease rounds (every 6th row), which decreased 20 stitches. Increased every 6th row back up to 140.

Sleeves - I cast on 34, knit 1.5 of garter stitch, increased to 40 stitches for stockinette portion. I needed to end up with 54 stitches total, so I increased 2 stitches every 14th round a total of 7 times.

Joining for yoke - I put the 12 underarm stitches on holders and joined the body and sleeves.  I completed the first group of short rows and first decrease round as in the pattern.  For the remained of the yoke, I just tried it on regularly to see if I was ready for a decrease or to work the short rows. I didnt follow the inches in the pattern, but I did work the decreases and short rows as written in the pattern, adjusting down the number of stitches necessary (when there was a difference of 3 stitches per size, I adjusted 6 stitches down from the smallest size, etc.).

I hope this is helpful - I'm happy to answer any questions.

Thanks for the nice comments!

Ha - here too.  It was a very quick photo shoot!

Thanks for all of the sweet comments - I'm just a little sad that I have to put it away until fall!
