came up with this yesterday morning before I had to head into work.  The consistency turned out more like a shake than a smoothie, which is quite alright by me!  Smiley

2 frozen bananas, peeled
1/2 can evaporated milk
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

Mix together in a blender and enjoy! I bet frozen blueberries or strawberries added to this would be awesome  Smiley

well when i think of a smoothie, i think of a more liquidy, ice or juice-based drink. when i think of malt or shake, i think heavier like with milk or icecream   Smiley

That sounds absolutely delish!  I like the idea of adding vanilla and cinnamon to a bananer smoothie or shake, simple but not something I've thought of before!

That looks luscious!
I always think of a smoothie as being full of fruit and healthier then a shake. And homemade I think, since the ones you get in restaurants are anything but healthy.
You can never have too many bananas in the freezer.  Smiley

The other thing that's really good with bananas and cream(well, evaporated milk) is pineapple juice (or pineapple).  Not sure how the pineapple would go with the cinnamon, but a banana colada is bananas, pineapple juice, cream, and ice (well, and rum, if you're making the alcoholic version).  I've been known to substitute vanilla ice cream for the cream and ice, but this sounds good, too (and probably better for me).  Smiley

Rum is also good in a banana shake!

I'll have to give this one a try.
Vanilla yogurt is also good for smoothies-here's my usual recipe.
(I refuse to measure when blendering, so all this is using a serving spoon).

2 plops of vanilla yogurt
1 banana
handful of ice cubes
2-3 splashes of milk
honey to taste

Make it as healthy or fatty as you like with your dairy choices!
