I've been looking for a cheap ugly little desk at the thrift stores to refinish and I finally found it  Grin  Paid $18.50 for it.  I painted it, cut up squares of scrapbooking paper to look like tiles, decoupaged them on top and upholstered the drawers and of course gave it new hardware.  Here are my very proud results.  It took me about 2 days to complete.  PLEASE tell me you love it as much as I do.  I'm so FREAKING proud!

Before (I almost forgot to take before pics!

Okay. that didn't come out right Cheesy

I absolutely love the drawers - seriously - I wasn't trying to be clever.  I just love the upholstered look.  I would never have thought of that!

Gorgeous! I think the drawers make it seem a little busy but I absolutely love the tile effect. You did an amazing job. All the squares look perfectly cut and perfectly placed. I especially LOVE the mickey mouse one. Great inspiration to do my desk now  Wink

That's awesome!  I love the color and pattern choices you made for the "tiles"  It works really well against the glossy black desk.
