I *love* the "Baby Deer" pinafore dress from Ottobre 01/08...maybe because my favorite toy when I was little was a stuffed baby deer.

Well, I finally got around to tracing the pattern and raiding my stash for some coordinating fabric to make it in (we can't afford to buy new yardage, so despite the wonderful ideas blossoming in my mind, I'm limited by what I already have on hand). I think this is going to be one of my favorite patterns for a while!

This one's made of a floral sheet and some bright yellow calico. I made the "Candy" pants from the same issue of Ottobre to go with it. They'll also be paired with a couple other outfits I made recently.

"Make a cheesy smile..."

I reversed the baby deer, just for the fun of it.

And just because she was so delighted to sit in the tree...

After I cut out the first one, I was ironing this fabric for another project and decided it looked just like a meadow and I *had* to make another Baby Deer with it. The bloomers are just some random pattern I used and modified to have cute ruffles at the legs.

And the bonnet!!!  All my bonnet patterns are really frilly and lacy, but I wanted this one to be simple, yet feminine. So after debating for over two hours about which pattern to use/how to modify it, I finally settled on Simplicity 3840 view C...sort of. Don't you love it though?

Know any other little girls who need some cute summer dresses? I can't seem to stop myself and she already has WAY too many clothes! ;-)

That is one of the cutest outfits I have come across on craftster. Maybe it's the model. I really love the green and brown one.

It's not what you know, but what you do with what you know that is important.

They are so adorable!! Cheesy  So is she! It looks like there's some room for her to keep growing in them too, which is always good Tongue

So... you're looking for other little girls to sew for? I'm a little girl. Really!! I can even supply the fabric.  Grin

Wow! I'm totally flattered! :-)  The brown and green is my favorite too...it came out so nicely! I can't wait to take her to visit relatives and show her off...she has such a sweet spirit too, so her behavior doesn't usually interfere with her cuteness.  Roll Eyes
