I'm alive!! I've been so booked in swaps. I have 3 large, 6 mediums and a few smalls to finish by next week (not all for this swap) so that's why I haven't talked in awhile. Sorry partner. Hope you are doing okay and enjoying your new serger. I have yet to figure mine out. But it's okay cause I haven't been needing it. I've been sewing up lots of totes/purses/bags etc. Okay, off to do some more crafting. I got 3 mediums done today that wasn't included in my list above. *feeling overwhelmed - thinks I should limit myself to only 3 swaps from now on including personal swaps*

Admittedly, I haven't done many swaps at all, but sometimes I feel so weirdly babysat by organizers. Do people flake on swaps a lot? Is this an inappropriate question/comment?

Yes! People flake all the time... I have been an angel in two different swaps this month.  For most of us, we are responsible and sign up to swaps we know we can do in the time frame given. We also communicate if we are running behind due to supplies, busy lives and if a elephant ate our crafting supplies. HOWEVER, there seems to always be one or more people in a swap that do not have great time/$$/craft management and over commit. 

My advice - do what the organizers ask... I am not always so organized, so if a swap requests/demands weekly communication - I set up a personal reminder to make sure it gets done.  ALWAYS take pictures of your swap before sending AND ALWAYS get a delivery confirmation and keep your postage receipts.

I hope this saves you heartache in future swaps - and may you never be flaked on!

There always seems to be at least one flake in every swap I've joined.  Some have had several flakes. 

Weekly communication isn't a big deal just a little note to let people know you haven't vanished.  It's common courtesy, really.

On Topic: I'm working feverishly to finish...have had trouble visualizing how I want the end product to look on one item.
