As a couple of friends have given birth to baby girls this last month, I decided to draft a pattern for a simple dress that can grow with the baby and be used as a tunic/top over trousers when it's too short to be worn as a dress.

I've put instructions and a downloadable PDF pattern on my blog HERE. It comes in sizes 3-6, 6-9 and 9-12 months, but as it's a simple pattern you crafty lot could easily modify it to other sizes I am sure! The pattern is of course totally FREE for personal use  Smiley

Such a lovely pattern! Thanks very much!
I am actually thinking of shrinking the 3-6 month pattern down a tad to fit DD's favorite doll, then expanding it to a toddler size 5 and making matching tunics or dresses for the duo.
I have some Amy Butler fabric that is itching to be used- and since I dont think I will be getting to the weekender bag anytime soon, why not!

Just bumping to say that since a lot of people reported not being able to download the PDF files, and I have lost count of who I have already emailed them to and who is still waiting, I decided to chenge my filehost. Hopefully there won't be any problems with this one!

I've changed the links on my blog, but here is a direct link too  Grin

Very cute!  I've been looking for something to wear on top so her cute diapers show.  I'm sure she'll have a dozen or so in the next week.

I love this pattern! I am a new seamstress (in the making LOL) and a new mommie to be. I am expecting my first child, a little girl in about a month, and I have been looking for a pattern of a dress that I can use to make my little girl her very first dress. For any of you that have children, any advice on how to adjust the pattern for a new born? I want her to wear the dress home from the hospital. Thank you!
