I can't believe its so long since I last posted - seems life has just got in the way a bit lately! Anyways, this spring I made some reversible toddler bonnets for my DS and a friend's DD. I had quite a few people on another forum asking me for a pattern, so I just did a PDF pattern yesterday and posted it on my blog for anyone to download, along with instructions. Free for personal use of course  Grin

This is what they look like:

And the pattern can be downloaded from my blog post, where you will also find full instructions.
This should fit a size approx 2-4 years, but can be adapted fairly easily to other sizes  Smiley As it's too hot for a double layer bonnet right now, you could also just make it a single layer non reversible - simply finish the raw edges with bias binding.

My MY those are too cute!  And so is your son!  They remind me of those old aviator hats, or if a ruffle were added to the front - those old men babies from the Little Rascals -do you know what I am talking about?  My son is almost 13, so I think he just might be beyond these - lol.  But I just might try to make a single layer one from some old hankies with a ruffle for kicks.  Thanks for the pattern!

BTW, I love your floor!

So charming and practical. Thanks for the tute!

For summer, I can see a ruffly thing (or a French Foreign Legion flap) on the back of the neck for sun protection.

For winter, felted wool?

I like that it's not so frilly, so that little boys can wear it. I didn't even know such a thing existed. Great job.

I am having problems with IE. Doesn't want to download the file. I really like the bonnet and would love to try my hand at making one.

This is awesome! I'm going to make one/some for my nephew closer to cold weather.

There does seem to be a problem with your file host though 'cause I'm running into trouble trying to download it.
