Sorry I don't have a before shot, but just imagine an old rough chair with an orange vinyl seat. Yuchh!!
I sanded it and applied 4 coats of paint. I painted the lower rungs in gold and also the hand-drawn little men on the back. I then reupholstered the seat with fabric I had left from my bed quilt project (picture included) and put it all together. It fits into our bedroom just perfectly and makes a good extra chair for company.

awwww...kokopelli!...How cute!

Painting them on the back really ties the whole chair together...it looks store-bought for sure!

Those "little men" are kokopelli.  They are an ancient symbol of fertility, found most often in the dessert- esp new mexico.  are you trying to get pregnant? i was just thinking of the kokopelli this morning!

nice work.
