It's beautiful! Grandma taught you well. You learned well. I guess she had her surgery this week. Hope everything went well and she is recovery comfortably under her new quilt.

you did such a wonderful job!  i hope your grandma makes a speedy recovery- and this will def help her!  she's gonna be so proud of you!  do you think it was an easy quilt to do?  i'm thinking of starting quilting this summer and i've noticed amy butler's free quilt patters (like this one) and it the brick path looks simple enough...  your thoughts?

You can never have too much fabric, too many beads or too many owls.

Thanks all for the well wishes. I spent the last couple months in Maine with sporadic internet access and just finally got back to the city. Grandma is doing wonderfully and LOVED the quilt. When I gave it to her she had tears in her eyes Grin. I just finished up a batik and black bento box and showed her the finished product. She liked it so much I'm contemplating making her a mini version for Christmas.

Caffinated Crafter, I didn't follow the pattern exactly (didn't use the "birthing method", put on a binding instead), but I thought it was pretty simple. The best part is none of your seams really have to line up Wink

Love the color choices! I also appreciate the fact that I now know that amy butler has free patterns! (maybe I was just a bit in the dark about that one though).

No wonder grandma had tears in her eyes! Not only is your quilt beautiful, it is filled with love.
